Ingredients to Make Crispy Corn

  • Sweet corn kernels – 2 cups
  • Salt – 1 tablespoon + ½ teaspoon
  • Chat Masala – 1 teaspoon + ½ teaspoon
  • Pepper powder – 1 teaspoon + ½ teaspoon
  • Corn flour – 4 to 5 tablespoons
  • Oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Onion – 1
  • Green chilli – 1
  • Lemon – ½
  • Coriander leaves

How to Make Crispy Corn

  1. Blanch the corn kernels – Take 2 cups of corn kernels and add them to boiling salted water for about 2 minutes or so. Then, drain the corn in a colander and keep it aside.
  2. Flour-coat the corn and deep fry – Take the drained corn in a large bowl. Add ½ teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of Pepper powder, and Chat Masala. Mix well. Add 4 to 5 tablespoons of corn flour to the corn and mix well. The corn must be coated well with the corn flour. If not, sprinkle some water and then mix. Keep a frying pan on medium heat. Pour enough oil for deep frying the corn. Deep fry the prepared corn. Drain the extra oil on tissue paper.
  3. Sautéing the corn with onion and green chillies and adding spices – In a pan on medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of oil. Sauté one chopped onion and one chopped green chilli for a couple of minutes. Add the fried corn. Add salt if required. Add ½ teaspoon each of pepper powder and Chat Masala. Mix well. Add the juice of half a lemon, and mix. Take the pan off the heat. Add chopped coriander leaves. Serve it hot and enjoy.
